Coastal Rivers to offer hand tool sharpening workshop
Whether in a shop or on the trails, a sharp tool is a safe tool. On Thursday, Jan. 29, Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust will host a hands-on tool sharpening workshop from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Denny Conservation and Education Center at Round Top Farm.
Coastal Rivers staff will offer instruction on how to safely and effectively sharpen commonly used trail tools including loppers, axes, shovels, and pick and cutter mattocks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand tools if they have any in need of sharpening. If not, Coastal Rivers has plenty to share.
Light refreshments will be available, and each participant will leave with their own flat file to use at home.
Open to all, this workshop welcomes both previous trail volunteers and those new to trail work to connect, share knowledge, and build practical skills in a hands-on setting.
There is no cost to participate. Registration is required at coastalrivers.org/events.
