Collecting signatures for petition

Fri, 11/29/2019 - 10:00am
    Dear Editor:

We were able to get the questions on the ballot in Woolwich, and won the vote. Now we are faced with a new issue. The letter that is proposed to be submitted in opposition to the project, was written poorly, and suggests that some of the selectboard still does not respect the wishes of the citizens of Woolwich.

This year is coming to a close, as well as the deadline for the 2020 state referendum against CMP. I will continue to collect signatures at several upcoming events, including the Bob Marley Comedy shows at The Taste of Maine Restaurant Nov. 30. All registered Maine voters are welcome to sign. So far I have over 300 from surrounding towns. With help from Farley’s Cannabis Farm, an up and coming local business, which allowed me to collect during Veterans Day.

We (Rachel, Dani and I) will propose a properly written letter on Monday, Dec. 6 at the town meeting. We hope that our pleadings on behalf of the people will be heard.
