The first meeting with Damariscotta's new board of selectmen will focus on just that: The new board.

The newly-formed board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at the town office for the first time since the June town meeting that saw new members James Cosgrove and George Parker written-in.

The new board must elect a new chairman and vice chairman; outgoing board member Joshua Pinkham filled the chairman position.

The board will also establish the times and dates for future meetings while also going over several other orientation items.

One of the first tasks the board will face will be appointing members to vacant spots on boards as well as accepting resignations from several committees.
