Daniel Harding wins Late Model 75 at Wiscasset Speedway

Wiscasset Speedway hosted their first Fan Appreciation Night of the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 16, featuring a Group 2 driver meet and greet and kids bike races on the front stretch prior to the start of the racing action.
The Dale’s Cash Fuel Roadrunners kicked off the night with their first of two 20-lap feature races. Logan Hall took off with the early lead, but a lap 3 caution brought the field back together. Karigan Glasier pulled ahead with the advantage on the restart, but Kyle Enman was on her toes. The leaders encountered heavy lap traffic in the closing half of the race and Glasier was bumped to the outer groove with just 3 laps to go. She then made contact with Gavin Gerow, backing into the turn 1 wall. Kyle Enman took off on the restart and never looked back, securing the victory. Gavin Gerow and Dylan York rounded out the podium.
Chad Dow jumped out to the early lead in the Late Model 75, one of the longest races of the season for the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Models. Unfortunately, trouble came early for Will Collins who came to a stop on lap 2, resulting in a caution. Chad Dow maintained command on the restart while drivers battled it out for second behind him. A multi-car accident on lap 12 brought the field back together and Jon Emerson powered to the lead on the restart.
Daniel Harding was also coming through the field, breaking the top 3 on lap 30. He continued his pursuit in the laps that followed, clearing Tiger Colby for the runner-up spot on lap 50. David Getchell encountered a scary moment on lap 61 as the #88 machine ignited, resulting in a red flag. Thankfully, he climbed out of the car under his own power. Daniel Harding got the upper hand on the restart and led the charge from there, scoring another feature victory in the division. Jon Emerson and Chris Burgess followed, completing the top 3.
Note: Late Model race results are still unofficial, pending tire sampling.
Early-race chaos in the 30-lap T&L Automotive Modified feature impacted numerous drivers, including Reed Reno, Adam Chadbourne and Faith Cleaves. Dan Brown pulled ahead on the restart, but a lap 11 caution brought the field together once more. Chuck Colby powered ahead on the restart and maintained command through numerous late-race cautions, picking up his long-awaited first win of the season and claiming the point lead in the division. Dan Brown and Reed Reno rounded out the podium.
Brady Romano took off with the early lead in the 25-lap feature for the Portland Glass Strictly Streets but took a spin on lap 2, causing the field to scramble. Ray Dinsmore inherited the lead at that point, pulling ahead on the restart. Multiple cautions followed, resulting in a start-stop effect in the racing action. Dinsmore maintained command in the laps that followed, but encountered mechanical problems in the closing laps of the race as his #81 machine began to spark worse and worse with each passing lap. He experienced heartbreak during a late-race red flag as he was pushed to the pits, ending his night prematurely. Race control called for single-file restarts at that point and Ben Burgess took off like a rocket, securing the victory over Dale Lawrence and Dan Trask. The runner-up finish surely felt like a victory for Dale Lawrence, who suffered a life-altering heart attack just over a month ago. Lawrence was joined by a large group of family and friends in Victory Lane, celebrating his well-deserved accomplishment.
The night concluded with a second and final 20-lap feature for the Roadrunners. The initial start was called off by race control, resulting in the front 2 rows being swapped. Logan Hall took off on the restart but Jason Sears dove to his inside on lap 3, overtaking the lead. Kyle Enman was on the move once again, breaking the top 3 on lap 5. He continued his pursuit as the laps wound down, diving to Sears’ inside in the closing laps of the race while the two drivers battled lap traffic. Sears was able to hold him off, picking up his first career victory at Wiscasset Speedway. Kyle Enman and Greenhalgh followed, rounding out the top 3.
Saturday was surely an action-packed night at Wiscasset Speedway and the fun will continue with a full Group 1 program plus 100-lap Enduro next Saturday, Aug. 23. The green flag flies at 5 p.m.
