Dock plan passes
A proposed pier, float and ramp off Hemlock Road got the Wiscasset Planning Board’s okay Monday, Chairman Ray Soule said.
Following approvals from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the board found the application complete; members then waived a public hearing and approved the project to go on to the code enforcement officer for a permit, Soule said later Monday night.
Joseph LeBlanc, president of LeBlanc Associates of Orr’s Island, first met with the board in December about the project on Chewonki Creek.
His client, Pamela J. Wakelin Trust, sought the dock; the project will include a 6-foot-by-24-foot pier, a three-foot-by-40-foot ramp, a 10-foot-by-16-foot float and a 40-foot-long, timber-frame haul-out, according to materials the town provided.
