Dorell A. Carter
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorell Alexandru Carter, who left this world unexpectedly at the age of 36.
Dorell was born on Dec. 23, 1988, in Beius, Romania, and he was raised in the picturesque town of Rangeley, Maine. A graduate of Rangeley Regional High School, he possessed a vibrant spirit and a passion for creativity that resonated through all aspects of his life.
Dorell was a talented musician, often seen strumming his guitar and sharing his heartfelt songs with friends and family. His love for the outdoors found him hiking the beautiful trails around his home, exploring the natural wonders that Maine has to offer. His keen intellect and curiosity also led him to excel in technology; he had a knack for taking things apart and rebuilding them with an innovative touch. With dreams of becoming a video game designer, Dorell was always pushing the boundaries of his imagination.
Above all, Dorell cherished the time spent with his beloved daughter, Cecelia (CeCe) Carter. His love for her was immeasurable, and he illuminated the world around him with his devotion as a father.
Dorell is survived by his loving daughter, CeCe, his father, George Carter, his mother, Nancy Carter as well as many other family members, including numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Dorell’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Southport Town Hall, located at 361 Hendricks Hill Road., Southport, Maine. We invite all who were touched by Dorell’s kindness and creativity to join us in honoring his memory and sharing stories that reflect the joy he brought into our lives.
In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established for CeCe at First National Bank in Boothbay Harbor. For more information, please contact Adam Climo at 207-633-5149 ext 2312.
If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, we encourage you to reach out for help by calling the National Suicide Hotline at 988. In our collective grief, let us also extend compassion and understanding to those in need.
Dorell’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him, guiding us with the same warmth and generosity he shared so freely. Rest in peace, dear Dorell.
