Human remains recovered in Damariscotta
On Sunday, Oct. 26 at 4:35 p.m., a landowner walking his property line in Damariscotta reported locating human remains in a wooded area. Deputies from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Deputies were later assisted on scene by Maine State Police, Maine Wardens Service and Damariscotta Police Department.
After examining the scene, it was determined the remains are possibly that of Tyler Low, 34, of Damariscotta. Low was reported missing to the Damariscotta Police by his family on May 5.
The remains were recovered and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in Augusta for further examination and positive identification. Damariscotta Police have notified Low's family of the discovery and the possibility this is him.
The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s office. There is no evidence of any crime in this investigation.
