Dresden, Woolwich men split $3M Maine Lottery winnings with fellow BIW workers
A group from Bath Iron Works changed up their game and struck it rich, taking home a $3,000,000 prize in the Maine Lottery’s Mega Millions game. The self-proclaimed “Harding’s Maintenance Crew” was among Maine Lottery’s top winners in July, a month in which 43 people took home prizes of $10,000 or more, with combined winnings of more than $3.9 million.
Winners from the group included: Michael Stacy of Woolwich; John Mott of Dresden; Jeremy Holt of Montville; Brian Swanson of Georgetown; Daniel Totorella of Waterville; Christopher Frank of Bowdoinham; Gregory Corrow of Lisbon Falls; Albion Wright of Sabattus; Gregory Frost of Poland; Stephen Scott of Tenants Harbor; Terry Wells of Randolph; Daniel Bisson of Harpswell; Eric Marquis of Lisbon Falls; and David LaPlante of Lewiston.
The “Harding’s Maintenance Crew” has played Maine Lottery’s Powerball together for years, only recently adding Mega Millions to their weekly routine. Thanks to the added $1 Multiplier, their $1,000,000 winning ticket turned into a $3,000,000 payday.
Each group member received $214,285 before taxes. The winning ticket was purchased at the Cumberland Farms in Woolwich; the store received a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The other top winners in July included Richard Hilton of West Bath, who won $250,000 in the $250,000 Jumbo Bucks game; Wendy Newman of Lubec who won $100,000 in the 20X the Money game; and Tu Thai of Biddeford, who won $100,000 in the Gem Series game.
