Dwight Keene upsets Gerald Lilly for second selectman
Challenger Dwight Keene outpolled one-term incumbent Gerald Lilly 149 to 138 on Tuesday, June 14 to gain a three-year term as Dresden’s second selectman.
Keene, 65, has said he wants to keep residents more informed about local happenings. He would like to have the town add a kitchen to Pownalborough Hall. He said he will be happy to hear what people have to say about how the town is run. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge.
In other local races, town office officials gained one-year terms unopposed: Property Tax Collector and Excise Tax Collector Ann Pierce, 266, 275; Town Clerk, Patricia Theriault 258; Treasurer, Kim Rzasa, 280.
Scott Silverman won a seat on the Budget Review Committee with 263 votes for a three-year term. Branden Perrault gained a three-year term as director on the RSU 2 School Committee with 256 votes.
The RSU 2 Budget Validation Referendum passed 208 to 77. The School Bond Referendum passed 180 to 104.
