Edgecomb Fire Department November report
November was an active month for the Edgecomb Fire Department (EFD).
Annual Fish Fry a success
Our annual community fish fry on Nov. 8 was a big success. We served over 100 plates of fish or chicken, and we sold out of food by 1:15 p.m. before our 2 p.m. closing time. We offered discounts for veterans in honor of the Veterans Day weekend and helped the Edgecomb Eddy School raise funds for their class trip to Boston. The EFD Auxiliary raised over $2,200 in net proceeds to supplement the department’s budget and to help reduce the town’s taxes.
Veterans’ Banners removed for winter
We removed all the veterans’ banners from the utility poles to be stored safely for the winter. We will re-install the banners in the spring in time for Memorial Day.
