Evelyn B. Burnell, 94, of Westport Island and formerly of Lexington, Mass. died March 2 after a long period of declining health.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Beauchesne of Lexington, and by her second husband, Daniel Burnell of Melrose, Mass., and Westport Island.  Fond memories of her will be cherished by her son, Bruce Beauchesne and his wife June of Townsend, Mass., and by her daughter Joyce Gray and her husband Steven of Litchfield, N.H., and by her eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She began her career as a teller for the Arlington Five Cents Savings Bank, was promoted to a secretarial position and ultimately retired as a secretary for the Lexington Public School System.  She was an avid square dancer, flower and vegetable gardener and reader.  She will find her eternal rest amongst the seaside flora she so deeply loved at Westport Island. There will be a private gathering for friends and relatives to celebrate her long life and peaceful passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Evey's memory may be made to: The Nature Conservancy in Maine, Attn: Joann Cooley, 14 Maine St., Suite 401, Brunswick, ME 04011.
