Exhibit at Maine Art Gallery
The current exhibit of artworks at the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset represents the works of its entire membership and has a distinct flair for colorful Maine scenes. Jane Bowman, from New Harbor, is showing a truly inspired painting of milkweed that really captures that wonderful explosive “puff!” The colorful Palermo Barrens is here also in a pastel by Ann E. Rhinehardt of Vassalboro, and a view of turning leaves as seen from the water in Barters Island Shore by John Butke, who is from Boothbay. For 3D works there are hand woven shawls by Susan Perrine done in silk and wool, stunning handcrafted jackets in kimono and batik material by Christine Hopf-Lovette, and that's just a few of the selections in this two floor exhibit.
What's better than a crisp autumn day for a pleasant drive along the coast? You'll find the Maine Art Gallery at the corner of Hodge and Warren Streets in the historic district of Wiscasset village. Fifty- five years of offering you the most in Maine arts from around the state.
The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit www.maineartgallery.org or call 882-7511 for more information.
