Petco to make donation for every adoption in honor of 50th anniversary

The Coastal Humane Society is teaming up with Petco of Topsham to host Fall in Love!, a mega adoption weekend to celebrate Petco’s 50th Anniversary. The event, Oct. 3-4, will feature many animals for adoption including several litters of puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, and small animals.

In honor of the 50th anniversary, the Petco Foundation will donate $50 to the Coastal Humane Society for every adoption processed on site over the weekend. If the number of adoptions exceeds 50, the foundation will donate $100 for every adoption.

The company set a goal of adopting out 5,500 animals across all Petco locations nationwide on their 50th anniversary weekend.

Chris Wolff, director of Programs and Community Relations for Coastal, appreciates the opportunity to partner with a local pet business.

“We are thrilled for this opportunity to collaborate with Petco,” said Wolff. “Those who plan to attend should prepare themselves for some seriously cute animals. And if you adopt, you’ll know you’ve helped the shelter to get a $50 grant that will go to saving more lives at our shelter.”

The weekend also features raffles, giveaways, and food. Coastal Humane Society mascot “Coastie” will be there as well.
