First Congo distributes Summerfest funds
On October 25, the proceeds of Summerfest, an annual fair held by the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset, were distributed to 22 area charities during the church service. Every year on Mission Sunday, the church sets time aside to thank and recognize local charities.

Summerfest has been held on the Wiscasset Common the last Saturday in July for the past 32 years. All members of the church are involved in the special event that features the On-Common Café, a dog show and parade, crafts, baked goods, books, treasures, toys, wood crafts, plants and a giant yard sale. All of the money raised is donated to charity.
