The first-ever Great American Picnic will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dow Furniture Field, on Route 1 in Waldoboro. Sponsored by the Lincoln County Republicans, all Republican and registered unenrolled voters are invited to bring their families to the free event to show their patriotism for our great country and to enjoy a wonderful end-of-summer day. All traditional picnic food items — hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, baked beans, lemonade, blueberry cobbler and Victory Ice Cream — will be available.

Tim Conley, well-known local singer, will lead the picnic crowd in a patriotic sing-along. He will be joined by other entertainers to provide music throughout the day. Former Governor Paul LePage will be the honored guest, along with other Maine dignitaries. There will be games for the children and adults, too. Please plan to join us on Sept. 7 to celebrate America.
