Cheney Financial Group has announced the appointment of Hannah Hilton as president and chief operating officer of Newcastle Realty, Cheney Insurance and Newcastle Vacation Rentals, effective Aug. 1. Together, the three companies employ more than 30 associates and operate from three offices in Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor. 

“Over the past six years, Hannah has become an integral part of our leadership team,” said CEO Dennis Hilton, a fourth-generation owner of the family enterprise. “She has helped strengthen our operations and is highly respected by the associates she works so hard to support. This well-deserved appointment positions our companies for continued success as the next generation assumes greater leadership responsibility.” 

The appointment is part of a broader leadership and succession plan for Cheney Financial Group. Dennis Hilton is joined in the ownership group by Chief Financial Officer Joe Ford, Nathan Hilton, Jessica Hilton and Christopher Hilton, Hannah’s husband. Together, the ownership and leadership teams are preparing the companies for the future while preserving their local, family-led character. 

Hannah Hilton was already leading the operations of Cheney Insurance and Newcastle Vacation Rentals. In her expanded role, she will now also oversee the operational side of Newcastle Realty, including business planning, administration, technology, marketing, and day-to-day management. Dennis Hilton will continue as CEO of Cheney Financial Group and designated broker of Newcastle Realty. His brokerage responsibilities will remain focused on real estate consulting, business and agent development, agent support and regulatory compliance.

The existing leadership teams at Cheney Insurance and Newcastle Vacation Rentals will remain in place, with Hannah continuing to provide the guidance and support that have contributed to each company’s success.
