Hearing planned for land use warrant articles
The Damariscotta Planning Board will hold a public hearing on March 7 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
Members of the public will be free to comment on the six land use warrant articles that will be decided upon at the town meeting on June 15. They include typographical corrections to the 2015 floodplain ordinance, minor changes to the shoreland zoning ordinance, several changes to the zoning map, changes to the comprehensive plan, and the new proposed sign ordinance.
The shoreland zoning ordinance changes will include changes to correct the language so that a lot that had been considered part of the commercial zone is now included in the downtown zone.
The land use ordinance is being corrected to include two lots on Biscay Road and Main Street in the C2 Commercial Zone.
These changes would require changes to the zoning map, as well as the comprehensive plan.
The sign ordinance draft is the more complex item on the agenda.
All of the changes are available to be viewed at Town Hall.
