The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch that there will be heavy snow coming to the Midcoast area Monday night, Jan. 21, into Tuesday. The exact track and strength of the snow will determine how much snow will fall and where.

A Winter Storm Watch will remain in effect from late tonight through Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Gray.

Accumulations of six inches or more are expected. Snow will begin this evening. The intensity of the snow is predicted to increase after midnight tonight and continue through mid-day Tuesday, Jan. 22, before letting up Tuesday afternoon.
