Wiscasset’s Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry (HYS) at St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., will be holding its official Thanksgiving distribution on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The earlier allocation allows people to have time for better planning their celebrations. The Pantry will also be providing its usual weekly boxes at the same time and in the usual drive-up manner.

One does not need to be a patron of HYS to receive a Thanksgiving bag. As with last year’s distribution, they will be provided separately in the St. Philip’s parking lot across the street from the church. However, one will still need to touch base with the check-in person and queue up for access.

Thanksgiving week, the Shelf will be open for a regular distribution with a shift in day and hours to Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. A few Thanksgiving meal bags will be available at this time as well, but please notify HYS of that need ahead of time to ensure the supplies will be waiting for you.
