Jerald J. Krebs
Jerald James “Jay” Krebs, 39, of Johnston, Pa., died peacefully at his home on March 29, 2013.
Jerald was born in Bath on November 11, 1973. He was a son of Maryjane Theroux-Barger of Woolwich and Herbert D. Krebs Jr. of upstate New York.
He graduated from Erskine Academy in the class of 1991. He graduated from St. Joseph's College in 1993, earning his degree in business management.
In 1994, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a communications technician for six years, earning his associate's degree. In 2000 he and his now ex-wife Melissa moved to Massachusetts, then on to Pennsylvania. He was employed with United Medical Systems and Siemens and was their Field Service Representative doing preventive maintenance and repairing all X-ray machines and equipment.
He was a member of the American Legion Smith-Tobey Post 21 in Bath.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Barger of Woolwich; two sisters, Elizabeth Veregge of Freeport and Bobbie-Jo Erskine of Edgecomb; three nieces, Brittany Greene, Fransica Sawyer and Aurora Erskine, three nephews, Kyle Greene, Gordon III and Lucas Bryant; three aunts, Althea Merka of Texas, Holly Theroux of Bath and Tracy Alexander of Gardiner; one great aunt and uncle, Steve and Betty Vincent of Central Square, N.Y., many first and second cousins, his current girlfriend Melissa Fabina-Arcurio of Johnstown, Pa., and many friends that he has made throughout his life.
Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Ross C. Barger, on August 19, 2010.
A service will be held Sunday June 2, 1 p.m., at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath, with a Legion Service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath with full military honors. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the American Legion on Congress Avenue in Bath.
