Jonathan Jones, 73, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Feb. 10, 2023 at Capitol City Manor in Augusta, Maine where he lived for six years.

He was born Jan. 14, 1950 in Boothbay Harbor to Clyde and Sally Hodgdon Jones.

He graduated from Boothbay Region High School and went to Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Portland to study electronics.

Jonathan worked at the Boothbay Region Golf Club as a greenskeeper for many years. He met many people as he hitchhiked around the town through the years.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother David Jones.

Surviving are his sisters Sarah Giles of Boothbay Harbor, Martha Holbrook and Rachel Jones of East Boothbay, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Capitol City Manor for the loving and care Jonathan received. He really thought of it as his home.
