AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, June 1, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,349 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,093 confirmed cases and 256 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,586 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 89 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 284.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 52 hospitalized, including 17 in critical care and 10 on a ventilator. There are 155 available critical care beds out of 397 total and 242 available ventilators of 317 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,214 females have tested positive in the state and 1,135 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:30 p.m.
