County Administrator Carrie Kipfer has announced Thomas Nelson of Damariscotta has accepted the job of Lincoln County 9-1-1 Communications Director.

Nelson was picked from 16 applicants. He is retired from the Coast Guard, and has skills that relate to public safety. Over the next few weeks, Nelson will be contacting other members of the department to introduce himself, Kipfer said.

One of his first projects is working with Kipfer to form a Communications Advisory Committee. The first meeting is planned in November.
