Lincoln County Regional Planning and Small Business Center open new offices in Wiscasset
Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission and the Small Business Development Center have opened new offices in Wiscasset and encourage businesses, non-profits and area residents to drop in Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. for an Open House, sponsored by the LCRPC and the Lincoln County Commissioners. The new office is at 297 Bath Road, next to the Sea Basket on Route 1.
For many years both offices were hosted by CEI, Inc. on Water Street in Wiscasset. The new location, according to William Blodgett, chair of the County Commissioners, will have more visibility and excellent parking. The new facility also will be able to host larger public meetings and educational/training workshops.
The LC Regional Planning Commission provides economic development, land use and transportation planning services to municipalities and businesses, and is guided by a board of local officials and residents. The current leadership of the board is made up of Stuart Smith from Edgecomb, chair; Chris Johnson, Somerville, vice chair; Michael Tomko, Boothbay Harbor, secretary; and Dick McLean, Damariscotta, treasurer.
The Small Business Development Center helps build and strengthen small businesses through business advising, training and educational resources. Experienced business counselors provide guidance on topics such as business feasibility, business plan development, capital acquisition, financial management, marketing and sales, e-commerce, customer service, personnel management, small business strategic planning and more.
The public is welcome to stop in and meet LCRPC and SBDC staff, learn about current projects and enjoy networking and refreshments. For more information, please call 882-5983.
