Linda D. Hezik
Linda D. Hezik, 59, died peacefully at her home on the afternoon of May 22, 2013.
Born in Boothbay Harbor on April 19,1954, she was the daughter of James and Judith (Orne) Bradley.
Linda spent her early years in Boothbay, before moving to South Portland where she continued her schooling and graduated from high school. She moved back to Lincoln County several years later, living in various towns before making Nobleboro her permanent home.
She worked for several convenience stores in the Boothbay area before going to work for Shop 'n Save in Damariscotta in 1986. She worked her way up to customer service manager, and saw a major expansion and a name change to Hannaford occur during her time there. The family is so very appreciative of the support Hannaford has given them through Linda’s illness.
Linda enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it be camping, soaking up the sun at the beach, or spending time in her pool and hot tub. She also loved going to the casinos and had always wanted to travel to Alaska. More than anything though, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether it was her own children and grandchildren, or her many “informally adopted” children, she loved spending time with all of them. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was predeceased by her father, James W. Bradley, just a week ago.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Hezik Jr. of Nobleboro; her mother, Judith Bradley of Washington; four children, Kerrilyn Lincoln and her husband Chris of Newcastle, Melissa Kuntz and her husband Steven of Gorham, Krystal Powers and her husband Seth of Patten, and Joshua Hezik of Nobleboro; one stepson, Walter Hezik III of Boothbay; one brother, Alvin Orne and his wife Kathy of South Paris; nine grandchildren, Kassie, Jalen and Kobe Lincoln, Henri, Gannon, Anneka and Hadley Kuntz, Clara Powers, and Avery Grover; as well as her much loved dog, Mocha.
As was her request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda Hezik Memorial Fund, c/o Lincoln Academy, 81 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle, ME 04553, which will help support underprivileged students that attend Lincoln Academy.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543. Condolences, and messages for the family, may be expressed by visiting www.stronghancock.com/.
