Linda L. Richardson
Linda Lee Richardson, 73, died April 17, 2026 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Linda was born on Oct. 10, 1952 in Dexter to Leroy Preble and Irene Sawyer Preble. Linda grew up in Dexter and attended local schools. She graduated from Dexter High School.
Linda was well known and a favorite cashier at Hannaford and Rite Aid. She also worked as a baker in school cafeterias in Boothbay and Dexter. In her spare time, she enjoyed making rag quilts, over 200, for family, friends and her co-workers. She and her husband were active church members in the various churches they belonged to over the years. Linda was a Bible study leader, and organized many children’s services for the churches.
Linda was a very thoughtful person, who would help anyone in need. She found beauty in theoutdoors, whether it was watching birds, going to the ocean, or enjoying a beautiful flower garden.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Leroy Preble; mother, Irene Stevens; brother, Larry Preble; and a great-grandson, Brock Robinson.
Linda is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alton Richardson of Boothbay; daughter, Donna Richardson of Alabama; son, Stan Richardson and his wife Solena of Scarborough ; brothers, Dalton Preble of Florida and Kent Snow of Dexter; sisters, Sheryl Firth of Guilford, Teresa Silva of Florida and Karen Langley of Dexter; grandchildren, Savannah, Chad, Ana, Douglas, Brent, Josh, Artell and Caleb; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Celebration Of Life Service for Linda will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 at the Charles E. Sherman American Legion Post in Boothbay. Burial will be in the Ferndale Cemetery in Ripley at 3 p.m. on May 3.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough, ME 04074.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.
