Maine Craft Distilling releases blueberry moonshine
Maine Craft Distilling will release their newest product, Blueshine, during a 4 p.m. launch party at its Portland distillery on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Blueshine is a blueberry moonshine made exclusively from Maine ingredients.
The public, age 21-plus, is welcome to attend the Blueshine launch party. To receive a free Maine Craft Distilling shot glass, customers simply need to come dressed in blue. Offer is limited to the first 100 customers and bluejeans do not count. The bluegrass “Blueshine Band” will perform starting at 5 p.m.
Luke Davidson, owner of Maine Craft Distilling, creates his products with a focus on historic distilling methods and local supplies. “We’re dedicated to using locally sourced ingredients in all of our products, and Blueshine is a perfect example of that,” said Davidson of the distillery’s newest release. “We add Maine blueberries and maple syrup to moonshine made from locally grown barley for a product that’s all Maine.”
Blueshine will be available at the Distillery located at 101 Fox Street in Portland and at select agency stores around Maine. Other Maine Craft Distilling products currently available are Chesuncook Botanical Spirit, Alchemy Gin, Ration Rum and Black Cap Vodka.
Queequeg Spiced Rum and 50 Mile Whiskey will be released in the future. In addition, a special line of Blueshine t-shirts are available for purchase at the Distillery.
