Margret T. Furbush
Margret T. (Woods) Furbush, 93, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Mid Coast Senior Health Care in Brunswick.
She was born in Sidney on June 5, 1919 the daughter of Gardner and Nora (Oniel) Taylor. She attended Fairfield Schools, graduating from Lawrence High School.
Margret worked as a self employed hair stylist at Margret’s Beauty Shoppe in Oakland for over 30 years. She was co-owner of Boatel Boothbay motel and marina and she was also a rental property manager.
While in Oakland, Margret was active in the Oakland Chapter of the Eastern Star, and attended the Universalist Church. She loved to knit, travel, and take road trips. Margaret enjoyed having her family around her and spent many wonderful hours at family outings. Florida became her second home for many winters.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert D. Woods; her second husband, Vernal W. Furbush; her daughter, Elaine Brown; sisters, Ethel Carson and Ila Mowsesian; and brothers, Russell, Raymond, Earnest and Harry Taylor.
Surviving are a sister, Alma Brown; brother, Clyde Taylor and wife Jeannette; daughters, Juanita W. Reynolds and Beverly Paca; stepdaughters, Arlene Butler, Jane Murphy and Patricia Goodhue; stepsons, Norman and Ariel Furbush, 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 17 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church Street, Oakland www.wheelerfh.com where a funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade.
