Marshall valedictorian, Ruzyckij salutatorian
Wiscasset Middle High School’s valedictorian for 2026 is Olivia Marshall, who also received the Maine Principal’s Award. The Principal’s Award is a prestigious honor presented by school administrators to recognize students or staff for exceptional achievement, character, leadership and positive impact on the community. It celebrates Marshall’s holistic excellence—including kindness and resilience—beyond just academic grades.
The salutatorian is Noah Ruzyckij, who will be attending Kennebec Valley Community College’s electrical linemen program. He will be exposed to such curriculum topics as AC/DC electrical theory, field training, occupational safety, line construction theory, tree trimming and line clearance, rigging, transformers, basic telecommunications and utility metering.
The Cum Laude Honors award goes to Erik Dube, who will attend Saint Joseph’s College. Cum laude (Latin for "with praise" or "with honor") is a distinction awarded to college graduates ranking in the top tier of their class, typically requiring a grade point average over 3.5. At Saint Joseph’s, Dube will practice in the newest simulations labs in Maine at the Jeanne Donlevy Arnold Center for Nursing Innovation.
