‘MATILDA’ WMHS Theater’s first full-length musical post-COVID
After surviving COVID and stage electrical issues, Wiscasset Middle High School Theater announces its first full-length musical production in many years, "MATILDA: The Musical."
Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Using her astonishing wit, intelligence and abilities, Matilda dreams of a better life and isn’t afraid to turn things upside-down to get it with the help of her friends. Captivating the hearts of young and old alike, this musical revels in the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination. Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs, and an unforgettable star turn for many in our young cast, this show reminds us, “Even if you’re little, you can do a lot.”
We are proud of all we are accomplishing in our small but mighty theater as we make our post-COVID comeback. This past November, we produced our first-ever all-age main stage show in our gym, and it was also our first-ever full length play in over four years. This was also our first full season of three shows. We are continuing to increase the size and scope of our productions with larger casts and crew as they, along with audiences, return to our pre-COVID numbers.
