AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 14, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 1,565 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 1,405 confirmed cases and 160 probable cases. 

Across the state, 958 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 69 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 207.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 37 hospitalized, including 18 in critical care and seven on a ventilator. There are 163 available critical care beds out of 361 total and 230 available ventilators of 313 total and 416 alternative ventilators.

The Maine CDC reports 33,035 negative cases, as of May 13. “Maine CDC will publish negative results once a week on Wednesdays. Because of the number of outside labs that are testing samples from Maine, it is not currently possible to post a complete count of negative tests on a daily basis,” the Maine CDC website states. 

By sex, 828 females have tested positive in the state and 737 males have tested positive. 

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.”
