AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 25, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,074 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 1,858 confirmed cases and 216 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,290 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 78 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 257.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 59 hospitalized, including 27 in critical care and 13 on a ventilator. There are 165 available critical care beds out of 391 total and 242 available ventilators of 316 total and 439 alternative ventilators. (NOTE: This data was last updated May 24 and will not be updated today due to the holiday.) 

By sex, 1,076 females have tested positive in the state and 998 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 11:30 a.m.
