Meeting preview: Fuel oil is on agenda
Although the weather outside is nice, the time has come to think about winter.
Specifically, fuel oil.
The Damariscotta Board of Selectmen will have fuel oil on the agenda when the board meets for the first time in August.
Selectmen will host the meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the town office on School Street.
In the past, the town as partnered with Colby & Gale, and town manager Matt Lutkus recommends the town do the same until Sept. 30, 2015. The price cap for the year is $3.30 per gallon of fuel oil and $1.99 for propane.
The board will also have public hearings for liquor and entertainment licenses. The Damariscotta River Grill is seeking a liquor and entertainment license while Maine Boats is seeking a liquor renewal license. Neither Maine Boats nor the River Grill had any alcohol-related offenses in the past year, according to a memo from Damariscotta Police Chief Ron Young.
The board will also discuss the 2015 town meeting, which is proposed to happen June 10, 2015 at the Lincoln Theater.
The meetings are open to public.
