Moose time at Wiscasset Story Hour
The second week of Story Hour at the Wiscasset Public Library had a fantastic turnout.
Nearly 35 people, ranging from a 4-week-old up to a couple of grandmothers, gathered on pillows and floor mats to hear the reading of “If You Give a Moose a Cupcake” by Laura Joffe Numeroff and “I Met a Moose In Maine One Day” by Ed Shankman.
Clearly, our theme of the day was Maine moose and our activity followed that pattern as well. All children had their two hands and one foot traced onto brown construction paper before the stories started.
By the end of the reading, we were ready to assemble the parts with glue to create our own Maine moose to take home. Being such a warm, beautiful day, we couldn’t resist taking the moose outside for playing and a group photo.
Story Hour is held at the Wiscasset Public Library children’s room every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The library is located at 21 High Street, Wiscasset.
All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow. For more information, please call 207-882-7161.
