Wiscasset’s Feed Our Scholars (FOS) mission is to aid Wiscasset Elementary School (WES) students benefiting from our bags of weekend nutrition, school supplies, books, holiday extras, and other unexpected issues needing assistance that occasionally crop up during the school year. It all combines to support WES children as they grow into their potential. 

As inflation cuts into people’s budgets, more families are accessing this program to help provide nutrition when school meals aren’t available. The increased numbers are fast eating into FOS’s funds. Please consider helping the group help those among us who are struggling to support their families.

All financial contributions are welcome in this effort, no matter how small or how large. One can write a check to St. Philip’s Church with “Feed Our Scholars” in the memo line and send it to St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, ME 04578. As an arm of a 501(c)(3) entity, all donations to FOS are tax-deductible.

Keep an eye out for Feed Our Scholars’ annual holiday bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ames Supply. Let us do your gift or party baking for you with luscious sweets and savories, all offered by donation. As a totally volunteer effort, any monies generated are applied directly to making the group’s mission possible.
