The Lincoln County Registry of Deeds will have a new vendor providing online record searches beginning Sept. 1. At their meeting on Tuesday morning, county commissioners approved a five-year, $240,000 contract with Info Quick Solutions, Inc. of Liverpool, New York, to provide the services.

Five bids for the services were opened at the July 7 commissioners meeting; and references and capabilities were checked over the following two weeks. Rebecca Wotton, registrar of deeds, and Carrie Kipfer, county business manager, took the commissioners through the rationale behind the selection of Info Quick Solutions, Inc.

“We needed to solve three problems,” Kipfer explained. “First, we have been using ancient hardware and software and some of it has become obsolete.”

“Second, we have very slow Internet speeds coming into the building. And third, public access to the information has been very difficult.”

Wotton and Kipfer reached out to the Knox County Registry of Deeds for a reference because it has been using Info Quick Solutions as its online search provider.

“We really like them,” said Deputy Registrar Linda Burgess when asked to comment. “They’re friendly to users and the website is great.”

The agreement between the county and Info Quick Solutions is for $4,000 each month and will include the installation of new hardware, a new server and all maintenance — both onsite and remote. Internet speed will be significantly improved because the company is providing the host website for the online record service.

Wotton is pleased with the improved services that will be provided by the new vendor.

“I am very excited to start a partnership with Info Quick Solutions for Deeds Records Management,” said Wotton. “IQS is an all-inclusive facility that houses a microfilm/imaging lab and data center along with a customer support and computer programming center.

“I believe that every phase of the recording process will be simplified and I have confidence that customers will find the public search aspect to be user friendly.”
