New week’s resolution

Wed, 04/01/2020 - 8:45am

All things coronavirus rightly have our river of news online and in print flowing big and fast like the real Maine rivers in spring when the snow melts. That has us busy feeding the river, Facebook and our daily Morning Catch email the latest updates on school and business closures or changes, Lincoln County’s virus case count, equipment requests, healthcare provider information and more, and news and features that tell more of the community story: How people are adjusting and responding to social distancing and other precautions.

Part of that is humor, like the socially distanced snowmen and dog walking; some poignant, like the lights; and some impressive, like the mask-making for others. So all the canceled events and postponed seasons haven’t left us with a what-can-we-find-to-write about question. It’s more like how can we ever cover it all, because new things keep happening, and it’s up to us to help keep you abreast.

So I’m replacing more of my phone communications with emails when it saves time; and my texting is getting nearly as quick as my typing. These have always been goals, but now, more than ever, they are needs. Have you been doing anything different or approached any resolution or other goal anew with this newfound situation?

This quarantine-stay at home-social distancing-glove-wearing-virtual board meetings existence could be a good time to revisit your new year’s resolutions and/or make new ones.

We’ll do our best to press on and hope you keep sharing your many new experiences with us, too!

Week’s positive parting thought: Bye bye, March 2020. Onward!
