No earthquake reported by USGS
Despite several Facebook commenters who reported a tremor, the United States Geological Survey did not have any reports of seismic activity in the Midcoast region.
Several reports came through stating that an earthquake happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. March 12, but the USGS didn't have any reports to indicate a quake.
As of 9 a.m., March 13, the USGS didn't have any reports of an earthquake in the region. A representative from the USGS said the region would be monitored, but that nothing was registered.
The region has had two large quakes within the past six months. The first was October 16, when an earthquake that measured a 4.0 on the Richter Magnitude Scale shook the region. On January 14 a 2.5 magnitude quake hit the region.
