John Whittaker was downstairs in Wiscasset Public Library Oct. 13 shopping for books to buy his mother Alice Whittaker and his daughter Olivia, 8.
Saturday was the second of Friends of the Library's two-day sale in the used book room. History and biography were moving best, Friends member Sally Gemill said. She said the group was doing the sale to clear shelf space for new books to freshen the stock.
If anyone has books to donate, please drop them off at the library, where they will be sorted to add to the collection or the used book room, Gemill added.
