Dear Editor:

The shameful pullout from Afghanistan one year ago should alert us Americans in Maine to being vigilant to elect U.S. Congressional leaders who will demand accountability of our actions and duties to making sure any future withdrawals are well planned, executed, and leave no friends behind. Ed Thelander, candidate for U.S. Congress in Maine District 1, is the excellent choice for this accountability and responsibility.

With Ed’s background as a decorated combat veteran of 21 years with the Navy SEAL Teams, he has working knowledge of military operations and in his words, “I am trained to look for solutions.”

It is admirable that Ed Thelander is willing to provide further sacrifice in service to our state and our country. I think we Mainers need his voice.
