Open Studio time in November and December might be just what you need to begin your 12-inch by 12-inch canvas for the 2013 Art in the Square show. Any talented person may enter this show. To register, you must purchase a canvas from the Boothbay Region Art Foundation. The people who enter always surprise the public with fine work that has been created using acrylics, oil, watercolors, photography, paper collage, fibers and assemblages, all made on the canvas.  

Open Studio takes place on the second floor at the gallery at 1 Townsend Ave., in Boothbay Harbor Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. You must bring your own

painting supplies. If you have a painting to finish and would like some suggestions, bring it along. Virginia Forrest and Judy Nixon will be the volunteer leaders of the group.  

Call Virginia Forrest at 882-7165 to sign up for Open Studio. The cost is $4 for each day you attend. All proceeds will be donated to the gallery to help carry out BRAF’s mission.
