The April 8 meeting of the Boothbay Region Garden Club will feature “Owls of Maine," presented by Emma Balazs, program assistant at the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset.

Emma began working for Chewonki in January 2010. She graduated from Colby College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her time is spent working in Chewonki’s lab caring for our residential animals and on the road teaching programs. Most recently Emma worked on a diversified organic farm in Skowhegan, and for Farm and Wilderness in Vermont leading educational activities for young girls.

Her presentation will feature three live owls native to Maine and New England bringing these creatures of the night into light.

The meeting will commence at 1 p.m. at St. Columba’s Church on Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor. Everyone is welcome to attend this informative meeting.
