Recipe fundraiser for Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars
Come one, come all to the fun, festive, and delicious fundraiser to benefit Wiscasset’s Feed Our Scholars/Set For Success Initiative. On Saturday, May 2, at 5:30, the group is hosting a recipe auction.
Directions: Make a favorite dish; make a copy of the recipe; bring it to St. Philip’s hall, 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset at 5:30 on Saturday, May 2; place all dishes and recipes on the food table. Next, attendees taste the dishes, soup to nuts. Non-chefs are welcome, too—the more, the merrier. Be ready to eat, as well as to bid.
Then, after everyone is satiated, local celebrity businessperson "Big Al" Cohen will auction each recipe to the highest bidder, all proceeds to support weekend bags of shelf-stable food for participating children during the school year, as well as the August Set For Success event when children Pre-K to grade 12 attending Wiscasset schools and their parents "shop" for teacher-suggested school supplies to begin the new school year.
As well as a hearty meal, as well as supporting local children, people will have the opportunity to stretch their recipe collections: a win for everyone.
For planning’s sake, FOS would appreciate knowing what type of dish you are intending to bring—appetizer, soup, main dish, salad, side dish, dessert; non-vegan/vegan, sugar-free/sugary—so please call St. Phillip’s at 882-7184, leaving a short message and return number. An FOS committee member will be in touch. Or contact the group via https://feedourscholars.wordpress.com/; Facebook: www.facebook.com/wiscassetfeedourscholars; or email: FeedOurScholars@gmail.com
