Considering the office you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues (350 words or less):  1. Maintaining school choice for all Westport Island students. 2. To limit the increases in school costs to Westport Island taxpayers. 3. Ensuring Westport Island remains in RSU 12 to benefit from being part of a larger district with other towns that receive subsidy which helps cover the costs of the higher tuition rates that are the result of school choice for Westport Island students.

Any other thoughts on why you are running or what you can bring to the office? 150 words or less: With 16 years as a RSU12 Board member and I have a sound knowledge of the Maine Public Education system and its funding. With my experience as a financial analyst for the US Navy I have been and will continue to bring that experience to limit the cost increases to all Westport Island residents. I have instituted projects that result in operational savings of $150,000 annually and reduced the annual education costs to island residents from $1,158,803 in FY 15 to $652,952 in FY 18. My actions on the Finance Committee has limited the annual cost per student increases to 1.9%.
