Roscoe Merrill Pinkham, of Belfast, Maine died at the age of 94 with family by his side. We often remarked about his birth date of Feb. 2, 1928, Groundhog Day, and now he has left us on Halloween, Oct. 31, 2022.

Roscoe was the son of the late Douglas and Arneta Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Also predeceasing him, is his eldest daughter, Arneta Peterson and a brother, Alfred Pinkham, Sr. He is looking forward to being with them again.

In the summer of 1948, Roscoe met and married his beautiful wife, Dora Bridges Pinkham, who survives him after 74 years of marriage. He is also survived by siblings, Jeanette Achorn, David Pinkham and Suzanne Blanchard.

Roscoe leaves behind a large family: son-in-law, Stan ”Bill” Peterson (Rachel); grandchildren, Dan, Kevin (Amanda), Amanda (Joe), and Vova; great-grandchildren, Bodie, Soren and Ruslan; daughter, Laurie Cunningham (Stan); grandchildren, Chad (Shannon) and Luke (Darrah); great-grandchildren, Zach, Grace, Lilah, Justin, Griffin, Faith, and Rachael; son, Jon Pinkham (Wanda); grandchildren, Brooke and Destioney (Brittany); great-grandchildren Madison and Macy; daughter, Bonnie Harris (Steve); grandchildren, Marissa (Joel) and Dave; great-grandchildren Meredith and Madelyn; son, Jeff Pinkham (Kathy); grandchildren, Tiffany, Crystal, and Siiri; great-grandchild, Jaxon; daughter, Penni Shute (Darren); grandchildren, Tyler Greenlaw (Mary), Justin and Holly (Ryan), great-grandchildren Cody, Jaiden, Zoey and Katy.

Prior to his retirement in 1990, Roscoe was an inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture and also served several terms as a selectman for the Town of Belmont. He proudly volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, a good fit since he loved puttering around the house. He and Dora spent many wonderful winters in Zephyrhills, Florida where he loved to golf and be warmed by the sun.

He lived a long life, left a legacy and will be missed. At his request, no funeral services are to be held, but please take a moment to remember him as you go about your day.
