School Committee views Wiscasset Middle School

Wiscasset School Committee Chairman-elect Steve Smith, the Wiscasset School Department’s transportation and maintenance director John Merry, and committee member Eugene Stover recently took part in a June 17 tour of Wiscasset Middle School.
Topics ranged from the building’s maintenance needs this year, to the possibility of the building’s eventual closure in connection with school consolidation.
During the tour, Interim Superintendent Wayne Dorr told the committee that some residents may feel nostalgic about the building.
He also informed the committee that two rooms at the school could be made available for use as a temporary central office for the first school year.
The committee recently toured Wiscasset High School and will tour Wiscasset Primary School at 5 p.m on June 26.
