Sen. Johnson receives perfect score on labor record
Sen. Chris Johnson (D-Somerville) has received a 100 percent rating from the Maine State Employees Union for his support of working families during the second regular session of the 126th Legislature.
Sen. Johnson is one of 19 Democratic senators to receive a perfect score from the union, which represents more than 15,000 public and private sector workers throughout Maine.
“Meeting with state employees throughout the district has reinforced my opinion that state workers are dedicated and hardworking,” said Sen. Johnson. “Anything we can do to make their service to the people of Maine more effective benefits us all.”
During the 2014 legislative session, Sen. Johnson supported a one-time increase in the cost of living adjustment for state retirees and funding for merit and longevity pay for state workers. Senator Johnson also supported the bipartisan, responsible budget crafted by the legislature, bills to increase access to affordable health care, and to support laid-off workers at the Maine Military Authority.
