Sen. Reny celebrated for perfect voting record on reproductive rights
Sen. Cameron Reny, D-Bristol, earned a perfect score from Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund for votes to protect reproductive rights and improve access to fundamental health care. Sen. Reny is one of 20 senators to earn a perfect score for their 2025 voting record.
“Earning a 100 on the Planned Parenthood Legislative Scorecard is something that I am truly proud of.” said Sen. Reny.“I am committed to strengthening and protecting access to sexual and reproductive health care for all Mainers. I have also had times in my life where my only access to a doctor was through services offered at Planned Parenthood, and as someone with a history of cancer in her family that access is critical.”
Planned Parenthood scored the votes of Maine legislators on 12 bills, including seven bills that would restrict access to abortion and reproductive care. This year, in the face of massive federal cuts, the Legislature invested $6 million in Maine’s family planning services network, which provides essential care for patients, including birth control, cancer screenings and testing and treatment of STIs, regardless of ability to pay. Sen. Reny also supported a new law that will protect prescribers of safe, effective medication abortion by allowing a provider to omit their name from prescription labels.
Sen. Reny has earned a perfect voting score from Planned Parenthood every year since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated the nationwide right to abortion.
