Shop Wednesday to support Skidompha Library
Start off 2016 by shopping to support Damariscotta’s public library! Through Rising Tide Community Market’s Co-ops for Community Day program, Skidompha Library will receive .5 percent of Rising Tide’s Wednesday sales this January.
Skidompha Library strives to enrich the Damariscotta community through promoting literacy, providing access to information, and promoting lifelong learning. They offer traditional library services as well as concerts, lecture series, and children’s events. For a listing of upcoming events at Skidompha Library, visit www.skidompha.org and click on “Programs and Events.”
Each month, Rising Tide donates .5 percent of Wednesday sales to a local non-profit organization chosen by the co-op’s member-owners. Past Co-ops for Community Day beneficiaries include organizations like Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Damariscotta River Association, New Hope for Women, Healthy Kids, Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association, and FARMS (Focus on Agriculture in Rural Maine Schools). For a complete list of past recipients visit: http://www.risingtide.coop/co-ops-for-community-day.
In the coming months .5 percent of Rising Tide’s Wednesday sales will benefit The Carpenter’s Boatshop (February), New Hope for Women (March), and Maine Farmland Trust (April). Want to see your favorite nonprofit on the list? The nomination period is from Feb. 1 – March 15 each year.
