Snow blankets Lincoln County
UPDATE: As of approximately 3 p.m., February 24, 10.5 inches of snow had fallen in the Midcoast region, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Kistner. He added that the snow should taper off by 6 p.m. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, no roads are closed and no serious accidents have been reported. Outages in the region are minimal, according to Central Maine Power.
Original post: Two systems sweeping through Lincoln County Saturday and Sunday are set to bring a total of 6-10 inches of snow, according to a National Weather Service release. As of Sunday morning, snow blanketed the area with no evidence of slowing down.
Because of the potential for heavy, wet snow, NWS warned drivers of slippery roads and reduced visibility. If you must travel due to an emergency, NWS recommends keeping an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
